From the radio:

"My mom made me a baby quilt ten years ago. It is beautiful, purple and blue with fishes on it. The only problem is… I didn’t have a baby, and it seemed like I never would. It has hung on my wall for the last decade. At first it seemed like a reproach that I hadn’t somehow done my life right. In the last five years, though, I have grown to like it there. Without a baby, this quilt is a patched together piece of art that demonstrates God’s goodness when your story doesn’t go the way you think it should. I recently found God has answered Carlos’ and my prayers for a baby. I’m pregnant!!!! One of the things I am looking forward to most is taking that quilt off the wall, washing it and putting it on our baby’s bed. God is awesome. Sometimes the things we look at as shame at first are actually promises of God’s faithfulness."
